Law enforcement agencies in the Jizzakh region have uncovered an attempted crime related to human trafficking, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported. According to the information, an 18-year-old girl living in Gallaorol district planned to take a 19-year-old girl from Sharof Rashidov district to Bangkok, Thailand.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the suspect tried to persuade the victim with the promise of "good income." According to the report, she promised to earn $350-400 a day through prostitution and said she would also cover travel expenses. It was noted that from the video released by the ministry, it can be understood that the girl knew the purpose of the trip.
It is reported that air tickets on the Tashkent-Bangkok route have been issued for January 12, and on the same day, a flight to Tashkent International Airport for travel abroad has been arranged. However, they were stopped by officers of the Department of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service of the Jizzakh region at the Manas-14 traffic police post in the Dustlik district and detained in procedural order. A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking), and an investigation is currently underway.
