
Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the credentials of Brazil's new ambassador, Sérgio Rodrigues dos Santos. The two sides discussed the development of bilateral relations and potential areas for cooperation.
Dos Santos has also been managing Brazil's embassy in Russia since August. Sérgio Rodrigues dos Santos began his diplomatic career in the mid-1990s at Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He has served in Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Geneva, and the United Nations Permanent Mission in New York. It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Brazil were established in April 1994.
From October 2024 to October this year, the trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $7.8 million, with an annual growth rate of 15.4%.
