Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher praised Michael Carrick's short stint at Manchester United. He believes the Red Devils are demonstrating a completely different spirit and character under the new coach.
Under Carrick's leadership, United impressed the football community in their first two matches. The Mancunians initially defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the Manchester derby. Shortly thereafter, a dramatic 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the central match of the EPL took place in London. These results showed that not only tactical, but also psychological changes occurred in the team.
Carragher emphasized this very aspect. He emphasized that Carrick primarily brought courage and confidence to the team.
- To be honest, this is precisely what my previous coach, Ruben Amorim, lacked. He didn't possess such determination and courage," Carragher said, commenting on the victory over Arsenal.
It's worth noting that Manchester United's management parted ways with Ruben Amorim on January 5th. Eight days later, Michael Carrick, a club legend, was appointed interim head coach and was set to manage the team until the end of the season.
