
Abdulaziz Akkulov has been appointed as the Chairman of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The corresponding decision was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Akkulov replaces Umid Shodiyev in this position. Shodiyev was relieved of his duties due to transitioning to another role.
Abdulaziz Akkulov was born in 1985 and studied international tourism management at the Tashkent State University of Economics. He began his career in the tourism sector in 2006 within the organizational framework of the State Committee for Tourism Development.
At the end of 2018, Akkulov was appointed as Acting Chairman of the Tourism Committee, a role he held until February 2020. Later, he served as the First Deputy Chairman of the committee and, from April 2021, as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports.
