Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised his conversation with US envoys on ending the Russia-Ukraine war. The discussion covered new ideas, meeting formats, and timing.
Zelensky held the talk after US and Ukrainian envoys announced the details of the updated 20-point peace plan. The plan allows Russia to see Ukrainian troops withdraw from eastern areas and the creation of a zone without military forces.
The plan also includes security guarantees from the US, NATO, and European countries in case of another Russian attack. In eastern Donetsk, a “free economic zone” is considered, but the area must remain under Ukrainian control.
Moscow is studying the proposals through a Russian envoy sent by the US. Meanwhile, fighting continues on the ground.
