Earlier, videos circulated on social media showing oil fluid seeping to the ground surface at the «M-25» field in Boysun district. The Ministry of Energy issued an official statement, noting that additional protective ponds were built around the site and along the streambed to prevent the oil fluid from spreading.
According to the ministry, the collected oil fluid is continuously transported to a designated site. The site has two specially insulated sludge ponds with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters each, enabling safe storage of the oil fluid and its efficient use later. It was also emphasized that all work is being carried out in full compliance with current industrial and environmental safety requirements.
The official statement says laboratory analysis is being conducted on a sample taken from the oil fluid, and processing options will be assessed based on the results. Geological surveys are ongoing. The situation is under constant monitoring, the oil fluid leak has been contained, and cleanup is also underway for the portion that flowed into the canal during the first days.
