On December 31, 2025, a tragic traffic accident occurred on a major road in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent city. Around 9:00 PM, a Lacetti vehicle driven by J.R., born in 2005, hit a pedestrian named Y.N., born in 1991, on Makhumquli Street. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained injuries and passed away at the scene.
The incident occurred when the pedestrian was crossing the road at an unmarked location and was struck by the vehicle. The Tashkent City Traffic Safety Department immediately began an investigation, and a criminal case was opened under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The investigation is ongoing.
This incident highlights the increased need to ensure road safety. It clearly shows the importance of being careful and vigilant when moving on the roads.
