Madrid’s Atletico, despite forward Julian Alvarez’s less-than-brilliant displays in recent matches, have taken a clear stance on the player. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
According to Marca, the club’s management fully trust the Argentine forward and have no doubt he will soon overcome the slump and return to top form. Atletico still view the 25-year-old as one of the leaders in the dressing room and one of the club’s most important assets since the Joao Felix era. Head coach Diego Simeone has not changed his mind either — he has 100% confidence in the striker.
Alvarez has failed to score for the Colchoneros in his last eight La Liga matches. Even so, across all competitions for Atletico he has recorded 11 goals and 5 assists in 24 appearances.
