Prosecutor General’s Office proposes demolishing 115 homes over construction violations

In Uzbekistan, following violations identified during construction and reconstruction, the issue of demolishing 115 homes has been raised. This was reported by Deputy Prosecutor General Dilmurod Qosimov.
Law enforcement agencies have also opened 98 criminal cases related to buildings failing to meet seismic requirements.
According to Qosimov, from 2017 to 2025 the earthquake resistance of 11.8 thousand multi-storey residential buildings nationwide was inspected. During oversight checks, 185 buildings were found to have illegally added extra floors, and another 1.4 thousand residential properties were not registered in the prescribed manner.
The прокуратура submitted motions to take measures against 85 design organizations, with 8 of them having their licenses revoked.
