Shomurodov: We must be ready and confident in all processes

The leading striker and captain of the Uzbekistan national team, Eldor Shomurodov, spoke with journalists after the crucial match against Egypt and shared his thoughts on the situation on the field, team tactics, and the final. As can be seen from his words, this game was not only a result, but also a great experience for the team in terms of mutual understanding and joint actions.

Shomurodov, noting that the team had a significant advantage in the first half of the game, cited the ineffective use of available opportunities as the main shortcoming.

"In the first half, the initiative was entirely on our side. If we had used our chances better, we could have scored a few more goals, not limiting ourselves to two. In the second half, we focused more on defense. Egypt also changed its tactics, and we were under some pressure. But most importantly, we didn't concede a goal," said Eldor.

In his opinion, creating a situation was the team's greatest achievement. Because it is these processes that show that mutual understanding and collective action are put on the right path.

"It's a mistake that we couldn't convert our chances into goals. But we managed to create a situation, which shows how much our team understands each other. This is another proof of how well we are in harmony on the field with both Oston and Azizbek," he noted.

Shomurodov emphasized that in modern football, the team must be prepared for all scenarios in both phases - defense and attack.

"In modern football, it is necessary to be ready for anything. In some games, active pressing is necessary, and sometimes, due to the opponent's superior qualities, it is necessary to play from the defense. We pressed well in the first half against Egypt, we carried the initiative. In the second part, we gathered confidently in defense. "The most important thing is to be ready in both phases," said the captain.

At the end of the conversation, Eldor stated that the team's goal in the final is clear and unchanging:

"The game with Iran will always be interesting and responsible. One thing is clear - we will fight for victory."

Shomurodov's remarks demonstrate the high level of psychological preparedness within the team, the players' trust in each other, and the strong unity formed in the team before the final. The fans are now meeting the decisive match on November 18th with logical anticipation.
