Chelsea mocks Arsenal after Champions League defeat

Chelsea brutally mocked Arsenal on social media following their defeat in the Champions League final on Saturday night. After Mikel Arteta's side lost a dramatic match in Budapest against Paris Saint-Germain, the "Blues" decided to remind everyone who the real masters of London are. Goal.com reports.

While Arsenal players were still reeling from their penalty shootout loss, Chelsea posted an advertisement for stadium tours on their official Instagram page. The image featured the Champions League trophy and two stars (symbolizing the club's two titles) with the sarcastic caption: "Visit the home of London's trophies." The post was published just as Gabriel Magalhaes missed the decisive penalty.

The match ended 1-1 after regular and extra time, but the Parisian club prevailed in the penalty lottery. Thus, Chelsea remains the only London club to boast the Champions League trophy. This situation was a major blow to North London fans.

Mikel Arteta did not hide his disappointment after the defeat: "It is very difficult to accept losing on penalties after such a consistent run to the final. This is a heavy blow." Midfielder Declan Rice also noted that despite a great season, the ending was tragic and the team would return stronger.
