Zenit defender and Russian national team member Igor Diveyev shared an archived photo on social media. In the image, he is seen at the age of 10 with German national team players. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
The photo features Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Mesut Özil. Diveyev recalled having the opportunity to walk onto the field with the players at that time.
He wrote that it was his first time stepping onto the field with the Russian national team: “This is my first time on the field with our national team! Only in the company of Podolski, Schweinsteiger, and Özil,” the defender commented.
This photo was taken before the Russia vs. Germany match as part of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. The game, held in October 2009 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, ended with Russia losing 0-1, with the only goal scored by Miroslav Klose.
