Nearly 1 ton of alcohol illegally sold uncovered in Bukhara

Authorities in Uzbekistan's Bukhara region have uncovered an illegal scheme involving the sale of over 1,100 liters of unlicensed ethyl alcohol valued at 72 million soums. An investigation by the General Prosecutor’s Office revealed that an individual entrepreneur and an accomplice funneled the products to state-funded entities, including a local medical association, through unauthorized exchange trades. The suspects operated without the necessary licenses or legal documentation required for such high-volume transactions. A criminal case has been initiated, and law enforcement officials are currently conducting further investigations into the illicit operation.

The illegal sale of a large quantity of ethyl alcohol has been exposed in Bukhara region.

According to the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, a private entrepreneur in Jondor district and another citizen acted in violation of the law by mutual agreement.

It was established that they were engaged in selling 1,115 liters of ethyl alcohol without a license or the relevant documents.

The total value of these products amounted to 72 million soum.

During the inspection, it was found that the alcohol had been delivered through exchange trades to the Alat district medical association and other budget organizations by bank transfer.

A criminal case has been opened under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are now under way.
