A surprising twist has emerged in the race for Germany’s Köln star Said El Mala. Brighton, which had until now been the main contender, has withdrawn from the transfer race. Goal.com reported this.

According to reports, an oral agreement had been reached between the English club and the player’s family. However, the €35 million offered by Brighton did not satisfy Köln’s management.
The German club is demanding at least €50 million for its academy product.
El Mala is also attracting serious interest from Chelsea and Newcastle. Bayern, meanwhile, see the player as a competitor for Luis Díaz.
The Munich side is also considering the Anthony Gordon option, but his price tag of more than €80 million could make a deal difficult.
After the talks ended unsuccessfully, El Mala’s family decided to seek professional help. The player’s affairs are now being handled by CAA Stellar, an agency that works with stars such as Fermín López and Eduardo Camavinga.
