Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved additional measures to support and incentivize medical workers and pharmacists. According to this, starting from January 1 and April 1, 2026, a number of new benefits and payments will be introduced.
Among these measures are an additional 10% salary bonus, partial coverage of 25% of mortgage loans by the government, reimbursement of educational expenses for employees' children, rewards of up to 30 million soums, reimbursement of expenses for publishing scientific articles, free treatment and sanatorium services, and guaranteeing a five-day workweek for employees of state medical institutions. Every year, on the occasion of Medical Workers' Day, a competition will be held among the best doctors, heads of hospitals, and polyclinics.
Winners will be awarded valuable prizes. Additionally, the state will cover the costs of publishing doctors' scientific articles in high-ranking international scientific journals.
From April 1, 2026, all state medical institutions will switch to a five-day workweek. However, duty shifts will remain during weekends and holidays.
An additional 100 billion soums will be allocated annually from the state budget for this program. The implementation of the program will be overseen by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration Tohir Aliyev.
From 2026, doctors will be granted more benefits
