
Uzbekistan’s hydro-meteorological service, Uzhydromet, has released the preliminary winter season weather forecast for the country. December temperatures are expected to be slightly above average, with monthly averages projected to be 1–1.5°C higher than usual.
At the beginning of December, mild weather will persist, with nighttime temperatures ranging between 0…+5°C and daytime temperatures reaching +10…+15°C. However, during the second half of December, temperatures may fluctuate significantly: nighttime temperatures could drop from +2…+7°C to 0…–5°C, while daytime temperatures might shift from +12…+17°C to +2…+7°C.
Precipitation levels are forecasted to be near or slightly below normal. Average January temperatures are anticipated to align with multi-year statistics, though some regions may experience slightly colder conditions.
During the first two-thirds of January, temperatures are likely to vary significantly: nighttime temperatures may drop from +3…+8°C to –3…–8°C, and daytime temperatures could decrease from +10…+15°C to –2…+3°C. By the end of January, severe cold weather is expected.
In most regions, nighttime temperatures may plummet to –12…–17°C, with daytime temperatures falling to –5…–10°C. In Nukus and Urgench, the cold might intensify, reaching –20…–25°C.
The cold spell is expected to continue in February, with nighttime temperatures ranging from –5…–10°C and daytime temperatures hovering around –3…+2°C. However, a significant rise in temperatures is anticipated toward the second half of the month.
By then, nighttime temperatures could range between +3…+8°C, while daytime temperatures may climb to +10…+15°C. In southern regions, daytime temperatures might even reach up to +20°C.
