Human remains found in burned areas of Australia

Human remains have been found as a result of strong bushfires continuing in southeastern Australia. Victoria state police said the remains were discovered near the town of Longwood, next to a vehicle. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established, and an investigation is under way.
The fires, which have been burning for several days, are spreading quickly due to extreme heat and dry weather. More than 350,000 hectares of land have burned in Victoria, with over 300 homes and other structures destroyed. Thousands of households remain without electricity.
Authorities say these fires are among the worst since the 2019–2020 “Black Summer” bushfires. More than 30 fires are currently active across the state. Smoke from the fires has reached Melbourne, affecting air quality.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said financial assistance would be provided to affected residents and farmers. Thousands of firefighters and dozens of aircraft are involved in firefighting efforts. Authorities are urging people to strictly follow safety rules.
