2025 ranks among Uzbekistan’s warmest years on record

According to Uzhydromet, 2025 was among the warmest years in Uzbekistan’s observation history, mentioned alongside 2016 and 2023.
The report notes that for almost the entire year, air temperatures were 1–2°C above normal. In April and May, the heat intensified, with average values recorded up to 4.5°C above usual.
Precipitation was also low: over the year, rainfall and snowfall were nearly half the norm. Drought was most pronounced from April through November.
The situation changed only in December, when significant precipitation was observed in Tashkent and nearby areas. For the capital, this December was recorded as the rainiest and snowiest month in the past 25 years.
By the end of the month, snow cover in mountainous areas reached up to 85 cm, leading to frequent avalanches around the Kamchiq Pass and the Chimgan area. Despite a week-long cold spell in mid-December, the month still ended up warmer than normal overall.
