ChatGPT Health: a separate, private, and smart space for health...

OpenAI has introduced a new section within ChatGPT specifically focused on health and well-being topics - ChatGPT Health. That is, now a separate, clear, and concentrated environment is emerging for questions such as "what is a symptom?," "are the numbers in the analysis answer normal?," "how should I prepare for a doctor's appointment?."
The company says that health is one of the most frequently raised topics in ChatGPT: according to a de-identified analysis, more than 230 million people around the world ask questions about health and lifestyle every week. Taking this need into account, Health takes a "step" higher than a simple chat: the advice aims to rely on the user's context, not abstract general statements.
The most important innovation is the ability to link data. The user can add medical records (analyses, admission summaries, history), as well as link apps such as Apple Health, Function, MyFitnessPal. As a result, the bot provides explanations based on the latest indicators, sleep patterns, eating habits, or trends, helps prepare a list of questions for the doctor, "fearlessly" read the tests, and understand changes over time.
Of course, this is not a "home doctor." OpenAI openly states: ChatGPT Health does not diagnose or treat - it is not for replacing a doctor, but to make a person ready and calm for a medical conversation. In short, helping to go to the reception without regretting asking "what should I have asked?"
A "strict mode" has also been established regarding privacy: Health functions as a separate field - chats, files, and linked app data are separated from other communications; additional encryption and isolation are applied; and most importantly, conversations in Health are not used to train basic models. Memories will also be separate and can be deleted at any time.
The project is not "we wrote it ourselves - and that's it": OpenAI notes that over two years, it has collaborated with 260+ practicing doctors from 60 countries, who have commented on the model's answers hundreds of thousands of times. These answers are aimed at reinforcing points such as telling when to contact a specialist, not causing harm in sensitive situations, and explaining in simple language.
ChatGPT Health will be launched gradually: first it will be given to a small group, and then it is planned to be released to a wider audience on the web and iOS in the coming weeks (some integrations are currently only available in the USA, while iOS is required for Apple Health).
Conclusion: instead of "googling away" on health topics, your data is being transferred to a format that's in one place, with comments that suit you. In the future, this section will make people's approach to health more conscious - with one condition: use it not to delay going to the doctor, but to properly prepare for the doctor.
