President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the progress of the population and agriculture census. It was reported that 2.48 million households have been registered via a dedicated portal so far, along with 31,000 farms and agricultural enterprises.
The census is being conducted in two stages from January 15 to February 28. In the first stage, citizens can fill out questionnaires online on their own; in the next stage, members of the local “mahalla seven” will go door to door collecting data using tablets.
A geoinformation system covering more than 7.6 million households and residential properties has been launched to monitor the process. It was emphasized that citizens’ personal data are protected and will be used only for statistical purposes.
Nearly 60,000 people have been involved in organizing the census, with regional and district штабs established. A large-scale information campaign was also carried out to raise public awareness.
