Shavkat Mirziyoyev Briefed on Preliminary Results of the Population Census

On January 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a report on the organization and conduct of the nationwide population and agricultural census across the country. It was noted that this event is of historic importance for Uzbekistan: the last census of this scale was held in 1989. This was reported by podrobno.uz reports .
The census began on January 15 and will continue until February 28 of this year. To make it more convenient for citizens and to improve data accuracy, the process has been divided into two stages. During the first stage, which runs until January 31, residents can complete self-registration online via the census.stat.uz portal using the OneID identification system.
The second stage starts on February 4 and will last until the end of the month. During this period, representatives of the “local seven” will conduct door-to-door surveys. A key feature of the current campaign is the complete отказ of paper forms: questionnaires are filled out on special tablets, and the process is monitored in real time through a geoinformation system. For this purpose, the geolocation of more than 7.6 million households has been digitized.
It was reported that so far, 2.48 million households, as well as 31,000 farms and agricultural enterprises, have been registered via the online portal. Across the country, 222 штабs have been involved in the work, nearly 60,000 staff have been trained, including 3,200 volunteers from higher education institutions.
The President noted that the census is one of the most important tools for state planning. It was emphasized that accurate demographic indicators, data on migration and employment, as well as analyses of land resources and the state of livestock farming, will help allocate budget funds efficiently and set long-term regional development strategies.
It was also stated that the confidentiality of personal data will be fully guaranteed: all information is protected by law and used for statistical purposes only in aggregated form. Upon completion of the census, a unified national database will be created, reflecting the country’s real socio-economic landscape.
