In Uzbekistan, 82 types of industrial raw materials and semi-finished products will be imported duty-free
Under the President’s decree dated January 19, new customs incentives have been introduced for domestic manufacturers. According to the document, import duties on 82 types of industrial raw materials and semi-finished products have been reduced to zero. This was reported by podrobno.uz. reports .
The new procedure will be in effect for two years and will remain valid until January 1, 2027. The aim is to support the real sector and reduce the cost of finished products.
This practice has been used before: customs preferences for these raw materials were first introduced in October 2021, but their validity ended on January 1, 2024. After a two-year break, the government decided to reinstate and extend the incentives.
The list covers materials of strategic importance for various industries. It mainly includes a large share of components for the textile and chemical sectors.
Key duty-exempt categories include chemical products such as caustic soda, caustic potash, castor oil, and various carbides and peroxides. The preferential list also includes organic and textile dyes, titanium dioxide-based pigments, polypigment pastes, and vitreous enamels for ceramics.
In addition, no duties will apply to polymer and plastic products such as polypropylene, vinyl chloride polymers, acetate films, and nylon tapes. For textile raw materials, the list includes wool and cotton fabrics, linen cloth, faux fur, synthetic yarns, pile, and lace products.
In terms of technical materials, the list also includes asbestos, filter paper, laminated plywood, fiberglass products, as well as burner parts and primary batteries.
