Uzbekistan and Turkey Discuss Expansion of Education and Scholarship Cooperation

On January 21, in Ankara, Munira Aminova, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, met with Abdulhadi Turus, head of Turkey's Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). This was reported by uzdaily.uznewsreports.
During the talks, the parties thoroughly reviewed the current state of cooperation aimed at developing educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries, as well as future initiatives. The discussion also focused on the results of YTB scholarship programs: in 2025, 228 citizens of Uzbekistan were admitted to these programs, with 136 students currently continuing their education.
It was noted that over 3,200 participants have successfully completed their studies through YTB programs, and a special portal has been launched to strengthen connections with graduates.
The meeting discussed ongoing projects such as the 'Cultural Turk' encyclopedia, the Zangturon initiative, jewelry courses, and emergency medical training programs.
Additionally, there was an exchange of views on new programs in information technology and cybersecurity, specialized training for young diplomats, and projects aimed at developing the pharmaceutical industry.
In conclusion, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation in education and skill enhancement, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in training highly qualified personnel and expanding professional exchanges.
