Hajj–2026 begins: Important dates for pilgrims announced

Preparations for the 2026 Hajj season are in full swing in Uzbekistan. According to the Muslim Board, the process of sending pilgrims on the holy journey will start on May 2.

According to the plan, regular flights to Saudi Arabia will be operated daily from May 2 to May 18. Pilgrims will be transported directly to the city of Medina from airports in nine major regions of the country — Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, Andijan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Karshi, Termez, and Urgench.

It was reported that the transportation of pilgrims will be carried out by the Saudi Arabian airline "FlyAdeal." Their return to the homeland has been entrusted to "Uzbekistan Airways."

In order to organize the Hajj pilgrimage at a high level, a number of important preparatory works have already been completed. Specifically, all pilgrims underwent medical examinations and were vaccinated against meningitis to prevent infectious diseases. Also, Hajj visas and necessary documents have been fully processed.

Furthermore, experienced leaders have been assigned to each group, and special training and briefing sessions are being conducted for the pilgrims. These sessions focus particularly on the correct performance of Hajj rituals, rules of conduct during the journey, and safety measures.

Currently, working groups operating in Saudi Arabia are also collaborating with partner organizations to create comfortable conditions for the pilgrims. In particular, all necessary conditions are being prepared in hotels, as well as in the valleys of Mina and Arafat, to ensure the smooth performance of prayers.

Officials emphasized that the priority task for this year's Hajj season is to organize the pilgrimage thoroughly in all aspects and to create a comfortable and safe environment for the pilgrims.
