First group of pilgrims from Uzbekistan seen off for Hajj

The departure process for pilgrims from Uzbekistan to the holy Hajj pilgrimage has begun. On May 2, the first group of pilgrims was ceremonially seen off as they departed for the holy land.

It is reported that the prospective pilgrims will depart for Medina from 9 airports across the country between May 2 and May 18. This process is being organized in stages, and it is emphasized that all necessary conditions have been created for each pilgrim.

Representatives of state and religious organizations also attended the ceremony to see off the first group of pilgrims. Specifically, Muzaffar Komilov, Head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Sodiqjon Toshboyev, Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs, and Mufti Nuriddin Xoliqnazar, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, participated in the event.

During the event, the Mufti expressed his sincere wishes to the pilgrims, asking that they perform their Hajj rituals perfectly and without any shortcomings. He also offered prayers to Allah, asking for the pilgrims' journey to be safe and their worship to be accepted.

It is noted that in 2026, a total of 15,000 pilgrims from Uzbekistan are traveling to perform Hajj rituals. This year, the cost of the pilgrimage for one person is 77 million 73 thousand soums, which is approximately 6,400 US dollars.

According to experts, Eid al-Adha is expected to fall on May 26 or 27 in 2026. After performing the rituals of the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha, the pilgrims will complete the Hajj ceremonies.

Following this, the pilgrims will begin returning to their homeland starting from the first week of June. This holy journey holds great significance for our compatriots, serving not only as an act of worship but also as an opportunity for spiritual purification and growth.
