Uzbekistan agrees to purchase modern electric trains from the Czech Republic

Uzbekistan has taken a significant step towards modernizing its railway sector by signing a strategic agreement with the Czech industrial company Škoda Group for the delivery of 10 modern electric trains. The project, valued at 120 million euros, includes not only the supply of the trains but also their localization and the establishment of service operations. This agreement was formalized during a visit by a Czech government delegation to Tashkent and is expected to strengthen economic and transportation ties between the two countries. The new generation electric trains, based on successful platforms tested in Latvia and Estonia, are anticipated to enhance passenger transport quality and promote environmentally friendly transportation in Uzbekistan.

Company CEO Petr Novotný emphasized that this project will mark a new stage for Uzbekistan's transport system. According to him, the trains, developed based on modern technologies, will ensure high levels of comfort, safety, and efficiency.
It is reported that the new generation of electric trains to be delivered to Uzbekistan is based on platforms that have successfully passed tests in European countries such as Latvia and Estonia. This signifies their reliability and full compliance with modern standards.
Experts believe that this project will serve to improve the quality of passenger transport, modernize railway infrastructure, and promote the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly transport vehicles in the country.
