Uzbekistan agrees to purchase modern electric trains from the Czech Republic

Uzbekistan has taken another significant step toward modernizing its railway sector. A strategic agreement has been signed with the major Czech industrial company Škoda Group for the delivery of 10 modern electric trains.

The company announced the deal through its official channels. It is noted that the project has a total value of 120 million euros and includes not only the delivery of the trains but also their localization and the establishment of maintenance services.

The agreement was formalized during the visit of a Czech government delegation to Tashkent. This partnership is expected to further strengthen economic and transport ties between the two countries.

Company CEO Petr Novotný emphasized that this project will mark a new stage for Uzbekistan's transport system. According to him, the trains, developed based on modern technologies, will ensure high levels of comfort, safety, and efficiency.

It is reported that the new generation of electric trains to be delivered to Uzbekistan is based on platforms that have successfully passed tests in European countries such as Latvia and Estonia. This signifies their reliability and full compliance with modern standards.

Experts believe that this project will serve to improve the quality of passenger transport, modernize railway infrastructure, and promote the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly transport vehicles in the country.
