In order to strengthen military cooperation between Turkey and Syria, Ankara plans to build two military bases in Syria. According to Turkish government-affiliated publications, military airfields will be built as part of this agreement, which may house 50 F-16 fighter jets.
Turkish military instructors are planned to conduct training exercises for the Syrian army and pilots. Turkey also pledged to help Damascus ensure security and respond quickly to unexpected threats.
The Syrian government is reported to have asked Turkey to provide drones, radar and electronic warfare systems to monitor the border with Israel in order to strengthen its territorial integrity.
At the same time, Israel continues to build its military bases in the Golan Heights to create a buffer zone.
