Court sentences doctor to 5 days in prison for acting suspiciously
A disgusting incident in Tashkent has shaken the public. On July 17 of this year, information spread about a sexual assault committed at the Tashkent Regional Branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, located in the Sergeli district,.

According to official data, 44-year-old doctor Z.T., under the pretext of conducting a medical examination, called the female patient into her room and locked the doors and windows from the inside. At that moment, the woman was alone. Taking advantage of the situation, the doctor sexually harassed the patient.

The perpetrator touched several parts of the woman's body, causing her severe emotional trauma. The victim, S.A., explained in her testimony to the court how the incident occurred. She stated that the doctor asked, “Do you like it?”. These words clearly show how appalling the situation was.

After the incident, the victim immediately contacted her family members. She also tried to leave the hospital, but the chief doctor did not give permission. On the contrary, he tried to cover up the issue by placing other patients in her room.

Law enforcement authorities conducted an investigation regarding the case. As a result, Z.T. was charged under Article 41−1, Part 1 of the Administrative Responsibility Code — “sexual harassment”.

At the hearing held by the Sergeli District Court, the doctor admitted his guilt. He expressed regret for his actions and apologized for what had happened. However, the court emphasized that such an offense cannot be forgiven and sentenced him to 5 days of administrative arrest.

According to psychologists, such incidents destroy the atmosphere of trust in society. In particular, trust in medical professionals is lost due to such misconduct. A hospital should be a safe space for patients, but this incident undermined that very understanding.

It is evident once again that society must cultivate a zero-tolerance attitude toward such acts. This is not only about one woman’s pain, but the safety of hundreds of patients, the trust between doctor and patient, and human dignity.

This situation has caused not only shock but also anger and frustration among readers. Therefore, it is time to increase supervision in medical institutions, take strict action against perpetrators, and raise legal awareness in society.

Every healthcare worker must, above all, be a symbol of humanity and responsibility. Unfortunately, however, sometimes those in this profession betray the immense trust placed in them.

Individuals like Z.T. inflict not just physical but also emotional damage. Therefore, their actions must not go unpunished. Society is responsible for guaranteeing the safety of every woman and every patient.

This incident is a wake-up call for all of us: being cautious, protecting our children, and creating an environment of trust is the duty of every citizen. Because what matters is not just a few days — it’s the future.
