Shawkat Mirziyoyev's first official visit to Malaysia in 20 years has come to an end. Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov noted that the cordial relations and informal dialogue between the leaders of the two countries left a very vivid impression.
According to him, the Malaysian leadership showed great respect and trust, departing from strict protocol rules in order to hold sincere meetings with Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“In particular, the fact that the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament came to meet our president was, according to our Malaysian colleagues, an unprecedented event in the protocol practice of this country. In addition, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim accompanied our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev throughout the day, at all official events and meetings. He even personally visited the residence allocated to the President of Uzbekistan to continue the dialogue. Then they went together, in the same car, to the Petronas headquarters, where they held a meeting with the company's management,” Asadov writes.
Also, at the official reception held in honor of the President of Uzbekistan, Malaysian artists presented a concert program featuring songs and dances of the Uzbek people, along with their rich history and culture.
"Such an informal and sincere relationship testifies to the close friendship between the two leaders, the high respect of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Malaysia for each other, and the bright prospects of bilateral relations," the presidential press secretary said.
