Trees are being cut down on Bobur street in Tashkent. The Tashkent city administration announced that these works are being carried out as part of the renovation and landscaping of the street.
A number of juniper trees previously growing in this area had become diseased and dried up. In their place, it is planned to plant 83 pyramid-shaped maple saplings and more than 62,000 ornamental shrubs.
Representatives of the administration acknowledged that mistakes were made during the work and stated that inspections are being conducted to identify them. Officials emphasized that landscaping efforts are aimed at making the city environment comfortable and ecologically healthy.
