Economic cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan is significantly intensifying. According to Tehran Times, the number of joint ventures between the two countries has increased 2.5 times, reaching 261.

Today, such enterprises operate in various fields including construction, petrochemicals, food industry, agriculture, and production of construction materials. Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, Mohammad Atabok, emphasized that the current trade volume does not fully reflect the potential of both sides.

He proposed to develop a detailed roadmap to bring the trade volume to 2 billion dollars. According to the Minister, the main direction of future cooperation should be the development of transport and transit routes connecting Uzbekistan to international sea routes through Iranian territory.
