The Tashkent city administration provided a comment regarding the situation with the trees in the park on Abdulla Qodiriy street. Earlier, reports had circulated on social networks that the rising soil level in the park was posing a threat to the condition of the trees.
Users expressed concern that the tree trunks and root joints had been covered with soil, raising the risk of rotting due to lack of air and high moisture. Representatives of the city's landscaping department called these concerns unfounded.
According to them, work in the park is ongoing and aims to create favorable and environmentally friendly conditions for the city's residents. According to experts, the temporary soil layer is part of the technological process, necessary for soil compaction and subsequent landscaping work.
Dendrologists emphasize that the temporary covering does not harm the trees: air supply to the roots has not been stopped, and Uzbekistan's dry climate eliminates the risk of rotting. Once all work is complete, before the start of the spring season, the soil around the trees will be carefully removed to ensure the supply of air and moisture.
