
There were two powerful explosions during Friday prayers at a school mosque in Jakarta. According to Al Jazeera, Indonesia’s police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo named a student at the school as the main suspect.
As a result of the incident, more than 50 people were hospitalized. The victims sustained various injuries, including burns as well as wounds from shrapnel.
Currently, 20 patients remain in hospitals, three of whom are seriously injured. Police are conducting an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
In the North Jakarta area, an anti-terrorism unit working at the scene found toy rifles and pistols near the mosque. It is reported that the mosque itself did not suffer significant damage.
