Kazakh President's Adviser May Be Appointed Ambassador

On November 14, 2025, reports surfaced about Magzum Mirzagaliev, advisor to the President of Kazakhstan, potentially being appointed as the new ambassador to Uzbekistan. This information was shared by oil and gas expert Nurlan Jumagulov, founder of Energy Monitor, on his Telegram channel.

Magzum Mirzagaliev, born in 1978 in Almaty, has a significant background in the energy sector. He previously worked for the "QazMunayGaz" company, served as Deputy Minister and Vice Minister of Energy, and held leadership roles in the Ministry of Ecology and the Ministry of Energy.

Since 2022, Mirzagaliev has served multiple times as a presidential advisor. His candidacy is currently under consideration for the diplomatic position.
