In the third quarter of 2025, the number of visits by Uzbek citizens to Russia reached 711,000. This figure placed Russia in second place among destinations visited by foreign citizens.
This was reported by "Kommersant." For comparison, during the same period last year, visits by Uzbek citizens totaled 836,000.
The most common purpose of visits by Uzbek citizens was work, accounting for 413,000 visits. Kazakh citizens were the most frequent visitors to Russia, with 975,000 visits.
Chinese citizens ranked third, making 631,000 visits to Russia. Kazakh citizens primarily cited "personal visits" as their purpose of travel.
In the first nine months of this year, 12.2 million foreign citizens entered Russia, compared to 13 million during the same period last year. According to Vadim Kozhenov, the head of the Center for Migrant Assistance, stricter migration regulations in Russia are impacting statistics.
For example, as of January 2025, citizens from visa-free countries are allowed to stay in Russia for only 90 days per year. Previously, they had the right to stay for 90 days in each six-month period of the year. "Previously, foreigners came to Russia twice a year (for seasonal work) and worked, but now they can only come once a year.
This has led to an increase in the number of people purchasing work patents," said Kozhenov. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
