Floods in Vietnam claimed 55 lives

The death toll from heavy rains and multiple floods in central Vietnam has reached 55. The fate of another 13 people remains unknown. This was reported by the country's Department of Dams and Disaster Prevention.

As a result of the floods, about 80 thousand hectares of agricultural land, including livestock areas, were flooded. More than 3.2 million head of livestock and poultry perished.

Currently, more than 28.4 thousand houses remain flooded, and 946 houses were completely damaged. According to the Department, the economic damage caused by the natural disaster amounts to 9 trillion dong (that is, about 358 million US dollars).
