Iran will build a huge new city in the Persian Gulf

A new large city with a population of over 150,000 people is planned to be built on the Persian Gulf coast in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan. This project is called "Central Makran (Makran-ye Markazi) " and is described as a new generation city.

According to Iranian state television, the country's Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture has approved the feasibility study for the city's master plan, the location area, and general construction principles.

According to the plan, the new city will be built near the settlements of Abkuhi and Kalirak. It is expected to become a hub focused on the maritime economy, energy production, and industrial infrastructure.

Within the framework of the project, the city's area is planned to be 3,200–3,500 hectares, and the population will gradually increase from 150,000 to 175,000 people.

Official reports state that during the construction process, special attention will be paid to maintaining ecological balance, protecting the environment, involving the private sector, and expanding the socio-economic opportunities of the local population.

Experts are evaluating this project as one of Iran's strategic urban development plans along the Persian Gulf.
