An unexpected change has occurred in the ranking of the richest people in Asia

A major shift has occurred in the Asian business world - Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of India's largest industrial conglomerate Adani Group, has regained his status as the richest person in the region. This was noted in the updated Bloomberg Billionaires Index data on April 17.

According to the new ranking, Adani's total wealth reached $92.6 billion, giving him not only leadership in Asia but also 19th place in the list of world billionaires. Mukesh Ambani, who is considered his main rival, is listed in 20th place with a capital of $90.8 billion.

Experts attribute these changes in wealth to a significant increase in the shares of Adani Group companies. In particular, the increase in the value of companies operating in the fields of energy, port logistics, and airport management has significantly strengthened the financial position of Ada. Since the beginning of the year, his fortune has increased by $8.1 billion.

In contrast, Mukesh Ambani's capital decreased by $16.9 billion during the same period. This was one of the main factors that directly influenced the change of leadership in the ranking of Asian billionaires.

The top three richest people in Asia are China's tech giant Zhang Yimin. His fortune is estimated at $68.7 billion.

If you look at the world's billionaires, Elon Musk is at the top of the list - his fortune has reached $656 billion. In second place is Larry Page ($286 billion), and in third place is Jeff Bezos ($269 billion).
