Egypt has raised the price of entry visas from $25 to $45 starting December 1. The relevant decree was signed by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
This decision has caused discontent among representatives of the tourism sector. The Federation of Egyptian Tourist Chambers urged the government to prevent the visa price increase.
The federation expressed concerns over the weakening of the country's competitiveness and a potential decline in tourist inflow. In 2024, approximately 15.7 million foreign visitors traveled to Egypt.
In the first quarter of 2025, over 16,700 Uzbek nationals visited Egypt, marking a twofold increase in this figure.
