A robot guide powered by artificial intelligence is being tested in the metro system of Shenzhen, China. This was reported by Global Times.
The robot, named Xiaosuan ("Little Garlic"), is designed to assist visually impaired and blind passengers. It is capable of independently planning routes, detecting the surroundings, supporting voice control, and recognizing objects.
If the program proves successful, the system will be implemented at other metro stations as well. One of the test participants said, "The electronic guide dog is more attentive and doesn’t get distracted. I feel much more confident while walking."
