A large 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Japan on December 12, Reuters reported. This natural disaster was observed at 11:44 local time at a depth of 20 kilometers from the coast of Aomori Prefecture. The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of the possibility of an evil tsunami with waves up to 1 meter.
On December 8, stronger tremors with a magnitude of 7.5 were observed in the same area. As a result of the earth's movements, 34 people suffered minor injuries, some roads and buildings were damaged.
At the same time, the government calls on the population to be more cautious and urges its citizens to be prepared for situations similar to the 2011 Japanese disaster. Approximately 20,000 people died in this disaster. Officials emphasized the high risk of an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 or more within a week. It made it easier to be cautious for those located in hazardous coastal areas.
