A criminal case has been heard against a woman who injured her husband in the Khavast district of the Syrdarya region, and a verdict has been announced.
According to reports, the incident escalated when the man returned home drunk at night and began aggressive actions against family members. According to the woman, during the quarrel that day, the husband first insulted her, and then his children, and beat them. Seeing her son, a 10th-grade student, being beaten, the mother reported that she took the knife under the influence of fear and a defensive instinct.
According to witnesses, the man, upon entering the house, exerted pressure on everyone, and in the heat of the moment, began beating his son. Then, to protect her child, the woman, in anger, stabbed her husband in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
According to the conclusion of the medical examination, the injury was assessed as life-threatening. During the trial, the victim stated that he had reconciled with his wife, that he had committed his actions that day while intoxicated, and that he had no claims.
The court assessed the woman's actions as a serious crime under part seven of Article 126-1 (domestic violence) of the Criminal Code. Nevertheless, taking into account the reconciliation of the parties and the innocence of the victim, the imposed sentence of imprisonment was recognized as conditional and a probationary period of one and a half years was established.
