Uzbeks must now present medical insurance when entering Georgia

Starting January 1, 2026, all foreign citizens entering Georgia must have a medical insurance policy. Uzbekistan Airways has issued a reminder. This is reported by kursiv.uz. reports .

Entry into the country will not be allowed without an insurance policy. A fine of 300 lari (about 1.3 million soums) has been set for non-compliance.

The policy must be issued in English or Georgian and remain valid for the entire period of stay in Georgia. The minimum coverage is set at $5,000 for emergency outpatient care and $30,000 for inpatient treatment. This coverage also includes accidents, injuries, evacuation, and repatriation.

Additional requirements apply for those planning to travel to mountainous areas. It is recommended to carry the insurance document either in printed form or on your phone— it may be checked both at the border and within the country.
