European Calls Intensify: Proposal to Halt Deal with Israel

Reactions to the situation in the Middle East are becoming increasingly tense among European countries. Spain, Slovenia, and Ireland are calling on the European Union to review and temporarily suspend its cooperation agreement with Israel.
This was announced by Josep Borrell Fontelles during a statement within the EU framework. He emphasized that the current geopolitical situation has become extremely serious, with the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region being assessed as one of the most severe crises in recent decades.
According to the minister, this situation poses a threat not only to regional security but also to international stability. Therefore, the necessity for the European Union to demonstrate a firm and unified position on this matter was stressed.
He also specifically addressed the situation in Lebanon. Concerns were raised about violations of international law norms in the southern regions of the country. It was highlighted that civilians are being forced to leave their homes for security reasons, and the humanitarian situation is worsening daily.
According to experts, should the European Union make a firm decision on this issue, it could have a significant impact not only on political relations but also on economic and diplomatic ties.
As of now, Israel has not officially responded to these calls. However, observers note that such initiatives will further intensify discussions and negotiations on the international stage.
