Ukraine calls Donbas 'Donniland' to win Trump's favor

Ukrainian diplomacy has resorted to unexpected and even 'exotic' methods to gain White House support. According to reports, Kyiv officials proposed naming the disputed territories after US President Donald Trump to win him over. Zamin.uz will share the details of this sensational plan.
'Donniland' — a special 'gift' for Trump
According to The New York Times, citing four reliable sources, Ukrainian negotiators proposed calling a part of Donbas at risk of Russian occupation 'Donniland'. The name is a combination of 'Donbas' and 'Donald', chosen to echo the famous 'Disneyland' amusement park.
Although this industrial region, 80 kilometers long and 60 kilometers wide, is currently devastated and depopulated, Kyiv hopes to influence Trump's personal feelings and ego through this term.
From a joke to a strategic weapon
According to information, this name was first mentioned half-jokingly by one of the negotiators. However, it later became an integral part of the negotiations to urge Washington to take a firmer stance against Moscow's territorial claims. The Ukrainian side proposes leaving 'Donniland' as a zone not under the full control of any state and presenting it to the world as 'Trump's personal victory and achievement'.
Symbols created by artificial intelligence
Interestingly, Ukrainian diplomats did not stop at just the name. They used artificial intelligence capabilities to develop a separate flag and anthem for 'Donniland'. Whether these symbols were presented to the American delegation or not is currently unknown.
Negotiations at a dead end
The future of this region currently remains the most contentious issue:
Russia's position: Favors demilitarization of the region and the establishment of Russian patrols there.
Kyiv's position: Seeks US assistance in softening these conditions from Moscow.
Nevertheless, negotiations have significantly slowed down since late February. This is attributed to the US and Israel's dispute with Iran, which has diverted the American administration's attention from Ukraine.
Dear politics enthusiasts, in your opinion, can Ukraine's 'creative' diplomacy truly win over Donald Trump? Can turning a part of Donbas into 'Trump lands' stop the war?
