Iran rejects truce: US conflict escalates further

The geopolitical situation in the Middle East is becoming more complex. Iranian officials have taken a firm stance on extending the ceasefire agreement with the US.
According to Tasnim news agency, the Tehran government did not ask Donald Trump to extend the truce period. Instead, the Iranian side assesses the US as "a party that could not achieve superiority in the conflict."
Sources indicate that Tehran believes Washington cannot achieve its goals militarily and is therefore trying to exit the conflict. At the same time, Iranian leadership stated that dangers would persist even if the truce were extended.
Specifically, the Iranian side does not rule out potential terrorist actions by the US and Israel. This is considered a serious threat by Tehran.
Furthermore, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is also a focus of attention. It is emphasized that the continuation of the naval blockade by the US could further prolong the conflict. Iran has stated that it will not leave this strategic waterway closed and is prepared to open it by force if necessary.
It is known that on April 21, Iran also refused to travel to Pakistan for a new round of negotiations with the US. The reasons cited were the violation of truce terms by Washington and the imposition of excessive demands.
Despite this, Donald Trump made a statement about extending the truce indefinitely. He emphasized that this decision was made at the request of Pakistani officials.
Mehdi Mohammad, an advisor to the speaker of the Iranian parliament, stated that there is no point in prolonging the truce. In his opinion, "the losing side cannot set conditions," and continuing the naval blockade is equivalent to bombing, to which a military response is necessary.
Thus, the confrontation between the parties is deepening, and the situation appears to be on the verge of a new sharp phase.
