It is expected that 10 km/h will be deducted from the speed recorded by the radars
The government of Uzbekistan has decided to increase the 5 km/h deduction from the speed recorded by radars to 10 km/h. The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a draft law to parliament.

The Legislative Chamber, despite the fact that the draft law has just been received and has not yet been considered, announced that “10 km/h will now be deducted from the recorded speed.”

“The draft law provides for the imposition of administrative penalties for speed violations based on errors in radar and speedometer readings, with a deduction of 10 km/h from the recorded speed,” the chamber said in a statement.

If this law is adopted and enters into force, drivers in areas with a speed limit of 60 km/h will be fined starting from 70 km/h, not 65 km/h as is currently the case.

It was previously reported that Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov had issued an instruction to introduce such an innovation in July last year.

We recall that starting in 2023, the maximum speed of passenger cars in urban areas in Uzbekistan was reduced from 70 km/h to 60 km/h. After this innovation, the number of traffic accidents in areas where cameras were installed has significantly decreased.

More than 2,200 people die in traffic accidents in Uzbekistan every year. Thousands more are injured and disabled as a result of car accidents.
