A strong 4.0 magnitude earthquake jolted the community in Kashkadarya
On July 9, a natural event that prompted public alertness — an earthquake — was recorded in several regions of Uzbekistan. According to the official statement of the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting and Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this natural event occurred in the Nishon district of Kashkadarya region.

According to the data, the earthquake occurred on July 9, 2025, at approximately 07:16 local time. The epicenter of the tremors was located in the territory of the Nishon district, where the tremors reached up to 4 points. This event sparked widespread discussion not only among local residents but across the country.

According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the distance from the epicenter to the city of Tashkent was 422 kilometers. Based on seismic analysis, tremors in the Nishon district were felt at a magnitude of about 2–3 points. Many residents of the area reported feeling unusual vibrations at home and at work.

In addition, tremors of 2 points were recorded in Guzor district as well. Residents there also observed the sudden manifestation of this seismic activity. In the city of Karshi, 2-point tremors occurred. According to official data, this city is located 37 km from the epicenter.

Fortunately, so far no human injuries or material damage have been reported as a result of the earthquake. However, such events constantly remind society that natural hazards remain relevant and that public preparedness for safety is crucial.

Seismologists emphasize that earthquakes of this magnitude are considered a natural occurrence. They are associated with geological processes and are periodically observed in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas such as Kashkadarya. Nevertheless, behind every earthquake lies the need for caution, readiness, and swift action.

According to reports shared by users on social networks, various sounds, wind-like gusts, and short-term shaking were observed in some places. These are natural effects that occur during underground activity.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations urged all citizens to remain calm, follow precautionary measures, and not panic at home, but instead adhere to safety guidelines. In particular, it reminded the public of proper actions during an earthquake: moving to a safe place, turning off electrical appliances, staying away from cracks, and leaving the premises without panic.

This event once again reminds us that nature never warns in advance. At any time, in any region, you and I may face a test. Therefore, every citizen, every family, and every organization must ensure full preparedness for natural disasters.

At present, the situation is under constant control by specialized institutions, local authorities, and relevant agencies. All systems in the regions have been put on alert. Seismic analysis is ongoing, and the probability of repeated tremors remains low.

The public is being called upon to stay composed, avoid spreading false information, rely on official sources, and behave responsibly.

Natural disasters always test the level of society's preparedness. The strong tremors in Kashkadarya did not turn into a catastrophe — we are grateful. But our duty is to always be ready for such tests and to live with a sense of civic responsibility.
