Traffic lights in Tashkent to be controlled remotely
Uzbekistan, including Tashkent, is implementing innovative solutions to improve the comfort and safety of public transportation, reported Upl.uz.

As part of a major modernization effort, $300 million in investment from China will be used to repair 200 kilometers of roads and build four new bridges in the capital.

One of the key innovations is the launch of an intelligent traffic information system. The system includes:
• Over 700 intersections in Tashkent will be connected to a unified platform.
• All traffic lights and surveillance cameras will be integrated.
• Traffic lights will be controlled remotely based on real-time traffic flow.

According to forecasts, the new system may reduce traffic congestion by 25–30%. These efforts aim to enhance the efficiency of the city's transport infrastructure and ease mobility.
