Kindergarten food criticized on social media

In recent days, the issue of food quality provided for children in public preschool institutions has been at the center of discussions on social media. In particular, complaints that products in some kindergartens do not meet standards have drawn public attention, reports the MDSHO.

On July 29, several users posted complaints on social networks regarding the composition, quantity, and quality of meals provided in kindergartens. This topic sparked heated debates in society.

The Department for Monitoring Nutrition in the Preschool Education Sector responded to these cases, stating that the institutions mentioned in the complaints have been inspected.

The first case was identified on February 27 at Kindergarten No. 42 in the Qibray district of Tashkent region. There was a complaint about insufficient meat provided to children. However, according to MDSHO, in line with sanitary requirements, the first course was soup made from bone broth, and children received a full meal through the second course as well.

The working menu, sanitary documents, and daily food standards confirmed this. No restrictions or safety violations were recorded.

The second case occurred on July 23 at Kindergarten No. 22 in the Chimboy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Experts discovered hidden food storage. This fact was confirmed, the necessary documents are currently being processed, and it was announced that strict legal action will be taken against the responsible individuals.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a special resolution aimed at improving healthy nutrition in state kindergartens.

As a result, preschools are gradually transitioning to an outsourcing-based nutrition system. The goal is to ensure a safe and complete diet for children, enforce sanitary regulations, and improve the preparation, storage, and transportation of food products.

To implement these goals, the Center for Organizing and Monitoring Nutrition in Education was established. The center coordinates processes, promotes digitization, carries out public procurement, and monitors the responsibilities of outsourcing providers.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of public oversight. Journalists, bloggers, and active users are urged to share objective and substantiated information and, if necessary, contact the ministry’s “Hotline” (71-202-09-09) or the information service directly.

Every child has the right to proper and nutritious food. Such complaints should serve as a stimulus to eliminate shortcomings in the system through cooperation between the public and responsible authorities.

The opinions and observations of citizens, together with the position of official agencies, are the most effective way to ensure transparency in this area.

Education and children's health are priority matters for the state, according to the official statement.
